However, it also has transmission problems occurring at around 84,000 miles to 100 and 19,000 miles. Drivers reported when the vehicle is moving, it may refuse to move as if the transmission is slipping or cannot engage the forward gear. In which, a whining or wearing noise, lack of power or shutter acceleration, or delayed engagement are all signs of a problem.

Car owners frustrated about these symptoms and may cost big money on fixing transmission so keep in mind paying attention on it.

Affected car owners reported that their vehicles have received multiple transmission replacements after the same problems persist. If you looking for other alternatives, look at Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, or Kia Soul.
2012-2017 Ford Focus
Ford and the NHTSA received thousands of complaints about shuddering, hesitation, and stalling or inability to accelerate on 2012-2017 Focus models. Rather than kicked off a recall, Ford extended warranty coverage through more than 20 Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) covered both the faulty control modules. To replace a potentially leaky seal around the input shaft that could contaminate the clutch. But the owners further complained that dealership fixes and replacements were not resolving the problems, and a report accused Ford of knowing about the issues before the model was due to launch. Drivers report that their vehicle begins to shake when accelerating from a complete stop or from a slower speed (for example, 15 to 40 mph), which some describe it as“shudder” or “judder,” posing a serious risk of accidents or injuries when merging into traffic or onto the freeway.
This may be due to a defective CVT control valve inside the transmission, or the CVT might need to be replaced that are occurred at around 58,000 miles and 108,000 miles.
View it with the positive way, maintain the CVT periodically may be a great way to look after the transmission system as well.
